There are a host of activities to enjoy when you visit the Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy – just two hours from Cape Town.
This area caters for everyone, from the super fit who are keen to traverse mountains, to our more relaxed visitors, who are here to explore in style.
Game viewing
Enjoy your own game drive or game walk when you stay in the Amandalia Cottages, the home of Saggy Stone Brewery. Stroll past eland, zebras, springbuck and wildebeest. And enjoy wonderful mountain vistas along the way.
Birding
Come bird in the Rooiberg region – and enjoy our incredible bird diversity, from the small sunbirds to the big bustards and majestic eagles. We’re home to species such as Pale Chanting Goshawk, Kori Bustards, Verreaux’s Eagles, Southern Double-collared Sunbirds, and hundreds more. Mountain biking
Many of our members offer challenging mountain biking adventures. Roam Rooiberg’s mountain biking routes allow you to explore the area. These professionally designed routes offer a real challenge to the experienced rider, while still being enjoyable for the riders starting out. They even offer a 150m kiddies cycle trail for the youngsters. Rental bikes are available. MORE HERE
Walking trails
Feel the ancient soil of the Rooiberg region under your feet during a hike in our conservancy. Many of the accommodation venues also offer hiking opportunities, such as Amandalia Cottages. Get in touch with the venue owners for more.
The conservancy also offers its own mountain biking routes covering more than 70 kms of trails.

CONSERVATION AND OTHER NEWS
