Join the Conservancy
There are many ways to get involved in the conservancy.
Become a landowner member
The Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy is made up of landowner members who receive financial assistance for invasive alien clearing, support for fire management and other management actions, and work jointly to address security and other threats to nature.
Become a corporate sponsor
Corporate sponsors not only do good for nature, they also receive promotional and marketing opportunities via the Conservancy’s platforms.
Become a
Friend of the Conservancy
If you live in, are employed or have a conservation-based interest in the Rooiberg Breede River region, then you can join as a Friend of the Conservancy. Not only will you be doing your part for nature, but you will also be able to enjoy many of the Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy’s nature-based events. And as a Friend of the Conservancy, you’ll receive discounts when you book to stay at any of our accommodation options.
Since 2020
Visit or support our nursery
The Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy established our own nursery in 2020. Plants are grown to rehabilitate riverbanks after invasive alien plant clearing to accelerate the recovery of the ecosystem, as well as provide food and refuge areas for wildlife to move through. And we also sell plants from our nursery to bring in an income to support our conservation activities.
You can help by:
- Donating seeds and seedlings, compost and garden implements for our nursery or for our upcoming school environmental education programme
- Volunteering labour and materials to maintain our nursery
- And popping in to buy some of our locally indigenous plants
